A fantastic knife, and a courageous step in the right direction from Casström. The No.10 made my top 10 in a collection of nearly 200 fixed blades, even as it was. And yet, I have long felt that European knife makers make undue concessions to the American market, by making their knives more massive than necessary. Using knives in the field, I have come to appreciate flexibility over sturdiness - because, really people, who breaks a knife?! Another lamentable development has been the release of ever more expensive knives in so called super steels. While admittedly better, I find they are very, very rarely worth the extra cost. So now here we have it: the re-release of three of the best knives in the market, in basic (but highly functional) carbon steel, and with a clearly reduced blade width: 3,2 instead of 4 mm (if you use knives, you know this makes a great difference). I will certainly get all three.
